How to Remove a Green Screen from an Image
To remove a green screen, pick a representative mid-brightness part of the background, inspect edges and shadows, refine remaining areas with the eraser, and export as PNG.
Why green screens are easier to remove
A green screen separates the background color from the subject. Chroma-key processing estimates how much the selected background color contributes to each pixel and converts that contribution into transparency.
Steps
Upload the image and choose the color picker. Select a representative background area, inspect the checkerboard preview, try another sample if necessary, and erase any remaining background manually.
When this method is not suitable
Solid-color keying may struggle with complex scenes, hair, green content in the subject or strong color spill. A professional mask or AI segmentation tool may work better in those cases.
